Junior Technical Design Engineer

Remote role - UK only

Our client, a leading, global electronic security business, is looking for 1, possibly 2, Technical Design Engineers.

Ideally, they are looking for candidates that are fairly new to the industry with just a few years’ experience. Perhaps you've just completed an apprenticeship and understand the fundamentals within service and installation of electronic security systems and are now looking to expand on that.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with limited experience but the right attitude and desire to learn Design and the technical side of this industry. This is a brand new role and is due to substantial growth over the last few months.

Please note - you do not need any previous design or CAD training. You will be trained in everything you need to be successful in this role.

About the role

• This role will teach you all you need to know about system design and will eventually evolve into a technical role to include commissioning of these systems which will bring the opportunity to get out onsite with the client. 
• You will predominantly be working on one key account across multiple locations globally but you will be based from home around 90% of the time.
• There will be an element of travel to the office, perhaps once or twice a month. The office is located in the South, close to London. You can be located anywhere in the UK as long as you are prepared to make this journey.
• You will be working in a growing team, currently alongside 3 others with a larger Design team also there for support. 
• You will receive training on design as well as systems training with Lenel and S2 and more.
• You will need excellent Excel skills and will be using this system a lot. You will also need good general MS Office knowledge and you must be PC literate.
• There will be a lot of paperwork in this role and you will have to be reactive to deal with change and have the ability to adapt quickly as per the client requirements.
