Technical Service Engineer

Site-based Technical Service Engineer - London, EC2

The purpose of the job is to provide professional engineering expertise and excellent internal and external customer service during the maintenance of variety of IP CCTV and access control systems and other security solutions. The main challenges of the job are deadline pressures, demand for thoroughness, customer service skills and route cause analysis on faults to meet the business requirements. You will have the support of other Service Engineers on this site, so your role is to deal with the more technical queries although you are expected to support as required.

Role

You will be site-based at a prestigious central London building and as the Technical Security Engineer you will be responsible for the service and maintenance of a range of IP CCTV & C-Cure access control systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in fault finding and repairs of PC/network-based security systems with a working knowledge of C-Cure systems.
• Provide technical expertise in fault finding and repair with a variety of IP CCTV operating systems from small scale CCTV systems to large multi-site installations with PC based digital recorders.
• To provide day to day service, maintenance and repair of the large-scale IP CCTV systems and access control systems.
• To complete a planned preventative maintenance regime.

Skills, Qualifications and Competencies

• NVQ 3 in Electronic Security or equivalent proven experience (4+ years).
• Excellent working knowledge of access control & IP CCTV systems – knowledge of Intercom / Intruder systems would be beneficial.
• Ideally certified in C-Cure levels 1 & 2 or higher.
• Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
• Knowledge of digital electronics principles and systems.
• Health and Safety.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP and other network fundamentals of UFEs (Unified Front End).
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
• Desired system experience.
