Due to their consistent success and growth, my client is currently looking to appoint a Technical Director to direct and develop the technical competency throughout the business and to help establish one of the best technical departments in our sector of the Electronic Security Systems market.

The individual will confidently lead the business through the next chapter of their projected growth by helping plan and execute their corporate road map which includes becoming a technology-led company. Working as part of the senior leadership team, the Technical Director will own every aspect of the Technical Department and directly report to the Board of Directors.

This role also involves meeting with Clients and making suitable technical recommendations. Similarly, co-ordination with other Departmental Managers to ensure that required technical competencies are being met on a company-wide basis.

You should be based in the South, commutable to North London / Hertfordshire / Buckinghamshire / Essex area.

Requirements

• Excellent Organisational skills.
• Good knowledge and understanding of enterprise security products.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Good understanding of Networks.
• Understanding of SaaS based solutions.
• Windows fault-finding skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Can-do attitude.

Main roles & responsibilities

• Be the Key individual to lead and drive the Company’s vision from a Technical Perspective.
• Direct Line Management of the Technical, Applications and Helpdesk Teams.
• Ensure direct reports follow company processes and procedures.
• Prepare (and implement) a 5-year plan to transform the company into a highly competent, technically-led Security Integrator.
• It is envisaged that this plan will include the setting of yearly stage goals and the resources required.
• The TD will also provide technical support in Client meetings/presentations.
• Similarly, assisting the Commercial Team with pre-sales and design solutions which will also include responsibility for product evaluations, life cycles and proof of concepts.
• Technical Vetting and Application Engineering of projects/installations that have been won.
• The TD will assist the Directors and Managers in reviewing current products and ensuring that the Company continues to offer its clients up to date technology and products, meaning we are providing the best solution for our client’s bespoke needs.
• The TD with the help of the Technical Manager, will develop and improve the Technical Department to suit the needs of our growing client base by reviewing commissioning processes, standards and identifying staff training needs.
• Mentor, monitor, develop and improve the Technical Department to suit the needs of our growing and evolving client base.
• Establish and measure KPI’s for the Technical Team.
• Development of the Technical Help-desk role and Software Support (SSMA) offering.
• Identify HR needs and assist in the recruitment process.

Remuneration

This is a brand new role and as such, the salary and package will be guided by the successful candidate, so at this stage, it remains very open and flexible.
