Bid Support

Our client, a national fire and security installation/service provider, is looking for a bid writer to join their growing team.

They are looking for somebody who enjoys writing and has a keen eye for detail. You will be someone who is committed to their own learning and development, and as you are 1 in a team of 2 you will receive regular guidance and support to develop your skill-set within the role. Attention to detail is essential in not only your writing style, but also your time management and organisation. Due to the volume of work this is a fast-paced working environment, and so resilience and self-management will be essential.

Example duties include:

• To take ownership of and undertake the written responses for tenders, PQQ’s, RFQs and other bids/submissions for contracts.
• To effectively manage and co-ordinate recording of bid submissions and documentation using the companies IT systems.
• To liaise with our group Commercial Manager to assess tender risks, i.e. payment terms, bonds, type of contract (NEC, JCT etc).
• To maintain and control a Bid Library of organisation documents, accreditations, policies, and procedures that are relevant to tendering. The Bid Library shall remain current and up to date on an on-going basis.
• Maintain post-tender communications with sales & operations teams to evaluate the company's position with each submission, and to ensure continuous customer satisfaction.

Experience within the fire and security industry would be incredibly advantageous, but not essential. Energy and attitude will be the main factors in this role, as well as your general writing style/ability. A background of writing bids/tenders in related industries is preferred.
