Business Administration Apprenticeship – Security Monitoring Centres (SMC)

  Salary Details  

Year 1 - £14,514.93; Year 2 - £17,827.37; Year 3 - £20,702.75  

  What you will need  

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs to include English and Maths at Grade C/Grade 4 or better, or equivalent Level 2 qualification.  
  • A positive attitude and the drive to complete a 2+ years apprenticeship.  
  • Access to a personal computer (PC/Mac) as well as the Internet when at home.    

Ideally, you’ll also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, time management, ability to work under pressure and teamwork skills.

About the role  

As a Business Admin Apprentice, you’ll work as part of the Sales Hub Administration Team. This position is an exciting entry point into this team and you can expect the role to provide as follows:  

  • Receive training and exposure to a broad range of administrative tasks that will enable the smooth and effective running of the business unit.   
  • Work with the Sales Team, gradually building your knowledge, skills, and behaviours that will allow you to coordinate all administrative tasks for the department.  
  • Provide efficient and effective sales administrative support to the team 
  • Provide administration support to the field sales team in their work to achieve external revenue growth.   
  • Actively generate leads and opportunities by engaging in telephone and web campaigns and interacting with both new prospects and existing accounts.   
  • Support marketing activities & improvement projects across the SMC group  
  • Be provided with and receive training on a wide range of processes and procedures, as well as software and systems.  
  • Develop your skills in gathering information to support the Sales Team, coordinating, answering incoming phone calls, and dealing with general enquiries.   

Your training programme  

The training will consist of external classroom training, as well as on-the-job training shadowing experienced team members. By the end of your training programme, you’ll know how to confidently manage a database, process invoices, deal with telephone enquiries, and use an ERP system to maintain accurate records.  

Complete the programme and you will join our Head Office team as a fully qualified Administration team member. Here your training will continue, with close support from our early careers team.

We run a multi-stage assessment process designed to highlight your relevant skills, qualities, and aptitude. You don’t need any previous experience, but it would be a bonus.
